Re: "Sagispeak"

Okay, my thoughts. Sorry for the delay. In the case of triple-p, I think it should be acceptable to collapse either the first two p's or the second two p's, i.e. I think either php or pph (fp or pf) should be allowed. It seems so far on this thread we've only looked at the first of these two options...

Re: Simplified "Stoic" Sagittal for 13-limit tonality diamond use

Wow, the Stoics have really come into their own! Cool to see that y'all have already settled on code points, Sagispeak, and Sagitype for them. And already updated the Smilies and Wincompose sequences. Eventually I'm going to need to work them into the Sagittal code base I've been working on (eventua...

Re: "Sagispeak"

I'm hoping @cmloegmcluin can come up with IPA spellings for whatever we settle on — maybe with some alternatives for speakers for whom "ng" is a foreign phoneme, if we go with "ng". I expect "php" would be "fəp". I've been following the recent surge in activi...

Re: Using Dorico with Sagittal?

Jacob! Good to see you here. I'm using MuseScore myself and haven't played with Dorico much since the previous UnTwelve workshop at Gesundheit. So if you're asking "Am I doing this right" w/r/t Dorico, I'm sorry, I can't say. But I can at least confirm you've got the right notation and Sag...

Re: 270edo in athenian+trojan only

Sorry just seeing this now. Your @ mention missed, because I've made my name too bizarre to spell easily. Sorry about that. Why isn't 2\183 :)|(: instead? I happen to know that Dave has got a deadline on a work project right now and I must protect him from procrastination :) But I'm not sure about t...

Re: general methods for linear temperament notation

Sure. The prime exponent vectors would only match generator count vectors for a single form of the mapping matrix, the one I gave above, which I do not have a name for; it is simply the form that Mike uses in his lectures on the wiki.

I copy-pasted the latex from you, silly. :P

Re: general methods for linear temperament notation

I notice that he not only uses the same notation |a b c ...> for prime exponents and generator counts, he doesn't use plus signs and he even calls the latter "tempered monzos" — yikes — helping making my case that Gene's monzo/val terminology is unhelpful and just raises a barrier to entr...

Re: Simplified "Stoic" Sagittal for 13-limit tonality diamond use

So the Stoics were indeed alternative Athenians. :) That's amazing. I've been quiet here but following along. I really love how this has been coming together. I also meant to tell you that I've been fixing up your attempts to display your attached images. Unfortunately, it doesn't work if you simpl...

Re: Yer: a Sagittal study

I just noticed that Thomas Nicholson, using EHEJIPN, prepends the cents deviations with the sharped or flatted nominal whenever it is not the bare nominal:

Lovely piece. Shame it's not notated in Sagittal, of course ;)

Re: Yer: a Sagittal study

But I don't understand why you think I would agree that the other option (-20 in your example) would be bonkers? You don't need to know Revo at all. You just have to be told to treat anything with parallel vertical lines like a sharp and pointing upward, as a sharp, and treat anything with paralle...
