Re: Notation for George Secor's High-Tolerance Temperament

Here's a lattice for the 29-HTT tuning, showing the 3 chains of 703.58 cent fifths and the fill-in note (yellow). Any fifth whose size isn't given is 703.58 cents. stretched just enough to dewolf B:F:#: split the difference between G:#::\!: and B:b: | | | 700 D:\!: ---- A:\!: ---- E:\!: ---- B:\!: -...

Re: Notation for George Secor's High-Tolerance Temperament

I'm just posting this here as a backup in case anything should happen to Robert Walker's tuning-math archive, since we have so little information from George in relation to his 29-HTT tuning. On Yahoo! Group: tuning-math Message: 11113 Date: Sat, 26 Jun 2004 00:57:10 Subject: HTT temperament From: G...

Re: Simplified "Stoic" Sagittal for 13-limit tonality diamond use

Hi Nick, Good to hear from you, and congratulations on your album and commissions. Thanks for testing the metadata. Did you also find where Dorico stores the general SMuFL metadata that is not specific to any particular font? These are glyphnames.json, ranges.json and classes.json. If so, what is th...

Re: How is 2460edo *actually* notated?

Uh, first, there's no left diacritics vs right diacritics? That's correct. There is no longer any need to use right diacritics/accents, particularly now that the Olympian accents are in SMuFL and Bravura. See https://forum.sagittal.org/viewtopic.php?f=10&t=254 and see the last paragraph on page...

Re: How is 2460edo *actually* notated?

Thanks Douglas. That looks good. It would also be interesting (some time) to see if it is possible to make a notation for 2460edo using the new Stoic symbols plus the Herculean and Olympian accents. That would be equivalent to dropping all symbols with non-Athenian (Promethean-extension) cores and f...

Re: How is 2460edo *actually* notated?

Hi FloraC. I'm afraid Douglas is mistaken. The Olympian (Extreme precision) symbol set contains 8 more symbols than are needed for 2460edo, and a decision has not previously been made as to which symbol should be used in those cases where there is a choice of two symbols. If you look at the "Bo...

Re: Simplified "Stoic" Sagittal for 13-limit tonality diamond use

I'm very happy with what you've done to the triple-scrolls in BravuraS_v3.sfd. I believe that to let Dorico know that Bravura-S is a SMuFL font you need to go to the folder: On Windows: C:\Program Files\Common Files\SMuFL\Fonts\ On Mac: /Library/Application Support/SMuFL/Fonts/ And in that folder yo...

AFAIK, Normality Has Been Restored.

https://forum.sagittal.org no longer gives security warnings, and
