Here it is!!! Harmonics 1 3 5 7 9 11 13 15 17 19 21 23 25 27 29 31 33 35 37 39 running along the top (horizontal), and subharmonics running down the side (vertical). I've got a whole bunch of enharmonics too, so people can, for example, choose to spell 13:7 as an alteration of either a major seventh or diminished octave.

I'm doing the diamond on D, because it's notationally symmetrical. Should make things a bit easier.

39-odd limit diamond in Olympian

Hi all. Thought I would write up a chart for most common use intervals in JI, showing the minute differences in intonation amongst the 39-odd limit ratios. The 20x20 diamond seems to have 317 unique pitches, so it's taking a bit of a while, but I'm getting there, and will definitely post here and on...

William has abbreviated a little. In 10 equal, a gai MINOR second (e.g. from D to E :/|): :b: ) should be equal to a gao MAJOR second (e.g. from D to E :\!): ). In medium precision JI or near-just tunings, this could be equating something like 13:12 with something like 35:32. Things get tricky if we...

[thumbs up] I find myself using :|(: :!(: more and more these days, not only for prime 19, but for the difference between :/|: :\!: and :|): :!):, as Dave said above. It's only a schisma (~2c) apart from 225:224 (like the difference between 14/9 and 25/16), too, so I use it for that most of the time...

Well, Cam already notated 13/8 as an alternation of 27/16 (A+ in Johnston when C=1/1) rather than 8/5 (Ab) I actually thought to notate the 13:8s as a minor sixth raised by :/|):, as "mutually intelligible" with Johnston, but the Sagittal convention as I understand it is to have the least...

OK so I went ahead and translated Johnston quartet 10, II, by hand, and it was incredibly simple, and very intuitive. Perhaps because there aren't too many unique pitches. Great! Good choice. I'll scan it for you. We might also try something very complex (a passage from the 5th quartet perhaps). That would be amazing.
