Re: Magrathean diacritics
Here are some relatively simple 19-limit mappings for each Magrathean diacritic: tempered out: 1990625n ≈ 169:1925n ≈ 104975n 0.5 tina: 17:9295n 1 tina: 65:833n ≈ 5:10241n ≈ 232925n ≈ 25:14399n 1.5 tinas: 5:2023n ≈ 25:15379n 2 tinas: 5831n ≈ 35:1573n ≈ 13:6655n ≈ 5:218491n ≈ 187:665n ≈ 475:1001n 2.5...

Re: 137EDO
I don't see why Spartan accidentals won't work for 137. Yes, 7 doesn't have a consistent mapping, but it's reasonable to redefine :|): here as the 65-comma (65/64). 1\137: :|(: (325k) 2\137: :/|: (5c) 3\137: :|): (65c) 4\137: :/ /|: (25S) or Athenian :|\: (55S) 5\137: :/|): (13M) 6\137: :/|\: (11M) ...

Re: Magrathean diacritics
I'd like to reopen this thread to suggest a different, somewhat simpler interpretation for the single-tina diacritic, and one that actually came up when studying temperaments in 494: the 55:343-schismina (14765025303/14763950080). It's the difference between the 7:11-comma (:(|:) and the 5:49 comma,...

Re: 494EDO and Promethean accidentals
All of that makes sense, although I'd personally like to preserve flag arithmetic as much as possible. I still have a few questions though. Are 494edo and 47eda different enough for it to be useful to use different notations for them? In particular for 494, would you recommend using only Athenian sy...

Re: 494EDO and Promethean accidentals
I did come up with a consistent mapping, but at the expense of breaking the Athenian symbol :)|(:, and switching its ordering with :~|:, so I’m not sure how useful this is. :)|: = 1° :|(: = 2° :)|(: = 3° (2+1) :~|: = 4° :)~|: = 5° (1+4) :~|(: = 6° (4+2) :|~: = 7° :~~|: = 8° (4+4), also :)|~: (1+7) :...

494EDO and Promethean accidentals
I’ve been trying to represent 494EDO in Sagittal, but I don’t know how to make it work. I’ve read somewhere on this forum that the Promethean level was specifically designed for 494, but there are some inconsistencies I can’t figure out. First of all, the Athenian subset works perfectly, with consis...
