Re: SaggiTAB

I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but this is how I would implement a universal tab notation for string instruments (including fretless ones): The note or interval for each string is specified, and instead of fret positions, an interval notation that is as universal as you want it to ...

Re: "Sagispeak"

I'm not sure how helpful it is, but here are my thoughts: If we ignore limitations, I would start like following: o i :)!(: :)|(: ranao ranai 7:11-kleisma ~10c c e :~!(: :~|(: sanao sanai 17-comma ~15c o for down and i for up is very intuitive, similar to the ao and ai in the accidental pronounciati...

Re: 103EDO and 113EDO

In the case of 103edo we have: :/|:=1, :|):=3, :/|\:=4, :#:=8. But 2 degrees is difficult. 2 degrees of 103edo could be :|(: or :)|(: but their untempered size is very small, and less than :/|:. 2 degrees of 103edo could also be :/ /|:, which has the opposite problem, but I prefer it for the obviou...

Re: 103EDO and 113EDO

I was thinking of comparing these two with 94, how interval relations work, and how things might "translate" across these moderately fine-grain equal divisions of the octave. A good basis for 94EDO and tunings that support miracle is 11-limit marvel temperament, or unimarv. Marvel tempers...

Re: 13-limit JI

Thanks, much appreciated! :) Viewing :(!/: as a 13 rotated by 180° helps me. I used ^ and v for quartertones 33:32 by my own before seeing this notation elsewhere, because it's an obvious character pair, and the German word for quartertone is ' V iertelton', so for me it was an obvious choice. :/|: ...

Re: "Sagispeak"

While I agree that it is confusing that n/u is used "in an upside-down way" compared to w/m, I think it becomes very intuitive if you imagine the Sagittal symbol / add the "stem" to the letter. If you think of the middle-line in 'm' or in a more round variant of 'w' (similar to ω...

Re: Notation system for gamelismic temperaments

Sorry, I still didn't manage to respond! I made considerable progress, and I think I'll be able to notate all important gamelismic linear temperaments for 10-, 11-, 15-, 16-, 20-, 21-, 25-, 26-, 31-, 36-, and 41-EDO, and some for 46-, 72-, 87- and other important EDOs. I also have a slightly less va...

Re: Notation system for gamelismic temperaments

Many thanks for taking the time to read through it, and for your feedback! :) Yes, I think I read about double-slashes causing problems here, but forgot about it. Should be fixed now! Omitting diacritics where it's unambiguous is probably a good idea. However, I think most linear temperaments will o...

Notation system for gamelismic temperaments

Hi! :D I've been working on a notation system for gamelismic temperaments lately, which is based on the Slendric[5] scale. Then I realized its similarity to Graham Breed's tripod notation, and that it could be generalized as a class of notation systems that can cover a lot more temperaments. Some of...
