### Re: Emoji-ttal

This happens on iOS when a font (such as Bravura) using specific code points in the U+E000..U+F8FF range fails to load. iOS first had emoji in 2.2, a year or so before Unicode officially added them. They were mapped to "Private Use Area" (6400 code points at U+E000..U+F8FF; there's also supplemental...

### Re: A proposal to simplify the notation of EDOs with bad fifths

Done.

- Added 5 at the top.
- Removed vertical whitespace. (For some reason I was using the size of a group as the vertical spacing instead of the size of a box on the first one.)
- Stopped at 240 instead of 306. (237 [group 196/25] and 239 [group 33/4] are in the 41st row.)

### Re: A proposal to simplify the notation of EDOs with bad fifths

I'm not sure if Dave will be a fan of the spectral color scheme. To be totally honest, I only used it because the code to generate it was something I wrote in about 15 minutes and I was feeling too lazy to actually use the original colors. And also because using it beyond the range where the bounda...

### Re: A proposal to simplify the notation of EDOs with bad fifths

I have to admit I'm still only barely understanding what y'all're talking about here, but that's a hella spiffy visual you've come up with, volleo6144! I, uh... didn't actually come up with it, really. It's just the periodic table of small EDOs (shown on the previous page, too) with half-size boxes...

### Re: A proposal to simplify the notation of EDOs with bad fifths

If the periodic table was to be extended, I think there would need to be a separate diagram which omits the gold and rose EDOs, and doubles the horizontal scale, since it would never go outside of the range from group 5.5 to group 14, and the boxes would then be only half a group wide (and so they ...

### Re: Naming commas and other intervals: a compilation of various sources

Therefore, we only need to ensure that our comma size categories are no wider than 23.46 cents (upper bound minus lower bound) to ensure that any "complex"-named comma must differ from its base comma by at least 41 in its 3-exponent. Our widest comma size category is the specific "comma" category, ...

### Re: Naming commas and other intervals: a compilation of various sources

[-569 359> as the 3-schisma (3s) ...hey, wait, are you forgetting the 53edo-comma used in defining the n/s boundary? I predict that, to most musicians, the term "1-comma" will make no sense, and 1:1 isn't any kind of comma. So [485 -306⟩ should be listed as the 3-schismina (3n) and [-569 359⟩ as th...

### Re: 28th mina OoBSoLFS exception resolution

There is only one spot in the entire Very High precision level where one cannot drop accents for a lower level, whether that lower level be High or Medium, and that is with :.::~|(: (covering the same pitch space as the 26th and 27th minas in the Extreme precision level). In the High precision leve...

### Re: A proposal to simplify the notation of EDOs with bad fifths

I had trouble parsing this: (also why is the fact that the exact color boundaries were never specified—even Trojan's was, after some searching—bothering me so much) Could you please explain. I assume you found this post: http://forum.sagittal.org/viewtopic.php?p=843#p843 But I agree the boundaries ...
